Consul-General Shimmura welcomes Saudi Delegation to Tokyo 2020 Olympics

On August 9, Consul-General Shimmura welcomed Saudi Delegation to Tokyo 2020 Olympic. They have safely arrived at Jeddah International Airport.
Congratulating on the Saudi's wining of silver medal, Consul-General Shimmura conveyed to His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee his utmost respect for the sportsmanship presented by Saudi team. His Royal Highness kindly remarked that despite the difficulties under which this Olympic was held, it was an orderly and wonderful event, and expressed his heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to everyone in Tokyo and Japan.
Mr. Tareg Hamedi, Saudi Arabia karate star who won his silver medal, also expressed his appreciation to Japan and Tokyo.
Based on the successful performance of the Saudi team at the Tokyo Olympics, it is expected that exchanges between Japan and Saudi Arabia in the sports field will be further promoted.
