Greeting from Consul-General SHIMMURA Izuru

Farewell Greetings from the Consul General of Japan in Jeddah
I will be leaving for Japan after completing my term of two and a half years since my arrival in March 2021. Although it has been a short period, I have been able to make a number of efforts with the support of Japanese companies and Japanese residents in Jeddah. First of all, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you.
When I arrived in March 2021, the situation surrounding the new Corona virus was unpredictable, but fortunately, the various restrictions were finally lifted last year, and Japanese companies have resumed their activities. We have been working to provide as much safety information as possible as quickly and adequately as possible, with the safety of all Japanese residents as our top priority. In addition, from the perspective of increasing Japan's presence here in Jeddah, we have made a number of efforts to support the activities of Japanese companies and to promote Japanese culture, such as the promotion of Japanese language education.
With the visit of Prime Minister Kishida to Jeddah in July this year and the further development of relations between Japan and Saudi Arabia, we hope that Japanese citizens in the Makkah and Madinah regions will continue to deepen their relations with the people of Saudi Arabia and continue their vigorous activities here.
Once again, we thank you for your warm support and cooperation. Thank you very much.
