On January 19, Consul-General Shimmura attended the "Webinar on Investment Opportunities 2022 in Jeddah" co-sponsored by the Japan Cooperation Center for the Middle East (JCCME) and the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
1. This webinar was held for the purpose of promoting investment of Japanese companies in Jeddah and business matching with Jeddah's businesspersons, with the participation of about 70 people from Japanese companies and Saudi companies, including 6 Japanese companies from promising fields such as culture / tourism, urban development, education / human resources development, logistics, healthcare, and daily necessities, which gave presentations on online advertising, robot technology, online education, cutting-edge technologies, services, and products such as cutting-edge medical equipment, nail art, and mobile air conditioners. Saudi businesspersons who participated in the webinar asked lively questions on various aspects such as the possibility of using such services online and obtaining information in Arabic. At the beginning of the webinar, Consul-General Shimmura refered to the growing business opportunities here in Jeddah in various fields such as culture and tourism under the guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, and under the framework of Japan-Saudi Vision 2030. He welcomed the holding of such a timely and meaningful webiner, and highly appreciated the contributions of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and JCCME, adding that the Consulate General will continue to cooperate with their activities. He also thanked the active participation of Japanese companies.

At the closing of the meeting, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed Yousef Naghi, Chairman of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry said in his speech that he welcomes the active presence of Japanese companies in Jeddah in various fields such as entertainment and smart technology under Japan-Saudi Vision 2030, and that he is so impressed with today's presentation of Japanese companies highlighting the important areas that the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce is focusing on. He said that the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry is prepared to cooperate with JCCME and its Jeddah Office to provide all necessary support for Japanese companies for the purpose of further promoting mutual investments.
