Meeting with HH Dean of Islamic University of Madinah
Visit to Dar Al Madinah Museum
On February 9, Consul-General and Mrs. Shimmura visited Madinah, where they paid a courtesy call on His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Khalid Al-Faisal, Deputy Governor of Madinah Region, and visited the Islamic University of Madinah.
1. Courtesy Call on Deputy Governor of Madinah Region
Mr. Shimmura expressed his hope that Madinah Region will be further familiar with people in Japan, referring to the active presence of Japanese companies in Madinah Region and the several Japanese students studying in the Islamic University of Madinah. He further expressed his gratitude to the leadership of His Royal Highness in providing security to Japanese residents in Madinah.
In reply, His Royal Highness expressed his appreciation of the excellent bilateral relationship, and expressed his readiness to continue to provide support to the activities of Japanese residents and companies in Madinah Region. HRH also expressed his desire to further promote exchanges between Japan and Madinah Region in various fields such as economy and culture as well as through further increasing Japanese tourists to there.
2. Visit to the Islamic University of Madinah
Mr. and Mrs. Shimmura also visited the Islamic University of Madinah, and met its Dean, His Highness Prince Dr. Mamdouh bin Saud Aal Thenaiyan Al Saud as well as Japanese students studying there. They exchanged views on ways to further promote bilateral cooperation in the fields of culture and education.
