SJAHI hosts an online workshop to improve automobile energy efficiency

On February 15, an online workshop was held by the Saudi Japanese Automobile High Institute (SJAHI), the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc. (JAMA), with the cooperation of other partner institutions, for the purpose of promoting technical cooperation and experience sharing between Japan and Saudi Arabia on technology for improving the energy efficiency of automobiles.
1. At the beginning of the workshop, Consul-General Shimmura has expressed his gratitude to the holding of this timely workshop by SJAHI and its partner institutions, especially when international efforts toward achieving carbon neutrality accelerate and further promotion of bilateral cooperation in this field is required. He also expressed his hope that this workshop will lead to further expanding bilateral experience sharing in this field.
2. The Saudi Energy Efficiency Center explained the Saudi Arabian government's efforts to reduce emissions and promote energy conservation in the automobile field. Then, JAMA gave a presentation on energy-saving technology and so-called "eco-driving". Also, Saudi trainees studying at SJAHI gave presentations on the results of their daily training in the field of energy conservation, and its Saudi instructors gave presentations on hybrid simulators.

His Excellency Mr. Salem Al-Asmari, Director of SJAHI expressed his appreciation of the cooperation by Japanese partners for holding this workshop, and said that improving energy efficiency in the automotive field is an important challenge, and he would like to make efforts to further strengthen bilateral cooperation between Japan and Saudi Arabia in this field.
