The first Session of "Evening of Japanese Language and Culture," a yearly cultural program in 2025-26

On May 15, 2025, the Consulate-General of Japan in Jeddah hosted the first session of the "Evening of Japanese Language and Culture", a yearly cultural programme organized by the Consulate-General in 2025-26. The event was a commemorative event for the 70th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2025. 

  

This time, the Consulate-General invited Mr. Ryutaro Saiki, a Japanese language teacher residing in Jeddah, to give a lecture on the Japanese language to those who have never studied Japanese before. 

  

 Mr. Saiki explained about the Japanese language with topics related to Japanto the participants. They practiced self-introduction in Japanese and learned about the origins of hiragana and katakana. 

 

 Participants left such comments as, “It was a wonderful experience for me”, “I would like to participate in the event again because I would like to learn more Japanese language and culture”and “It deepened my understanding of Japanese culture and made me want to visit Japan as soon as possible”.
