The Third Reunion Dinner(Ramadan Iftar) for Former Students Studying in Japan
Consul General of Japan in Jeddah, H.E. Mr. Daisuke Yamamoto, in cooperation with Saudi Association of Japan Graduates and Associates (SAJGA), hosted on Friday, February 27 the third reunion dinner (Ramadan Iftar) for Former Students Studying in Japan.
Around 35 former students in Japan including doctorate and master degree holders in various fields and some Japanese residents in Jeddah attended the Reunion held in the Residence of Consul- General of Japan in Jeddah.
At the begging of the Reunion, the Consulate General held a ceremony to confer the "Order of the Rising Sun, Golden and Silver Rays" to Dr. Abdulhafeez Samargandi, President of Saudi-Japanese Association in Jeddah for Japan Graduates (SAJGA), which was awarded to him in the autumn of 2025.
Mr. Yamamoto delivered a short welcoming speech, in which he praised Dr. Samargandi’s contributions to strengthening relations between Japan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, especially founding the SAJGA, organizing introductory programs on Saudi culture for the Japanese community and the Japanese school, leveraging his relationships with former students in Japan, as well as through cooperation in cultural programs organized by the Consulate General of Japan in Jeddah.
Dr. Abdulhafeez Samargandi delivered a speech, thanking the Japanese government for conferring the Order and the Consul General for holding the Conferment Ceremony.
The Reunion was held as Ramadan Iftar and Japanese foods, cooked by chef of Consul-General, were served for the participants. The former students studying in Japan renewed their old friendships and exchanged with Japanese residents in Jeddah.
